What the bank will ask for
A checklist of documents for a mortgage in Czechia, for foreigners and Czechs alike. Every bank wants something slightly different, but this is the core that comes up almost everywhere. Tick off what you already have.
1. Who you are
2. How you will repay
Employees
Self-employed
The bank calculates from what you declared. Lower declared income means a smaller mortgage.
3. Your own funds
What counts is what you will actually have on the day you sign. Pension savings and investments that are still to be released usually don't count as your own funds.
4. What you are buying
5. What you already repay
The bank counts an unused credit card limit as if you were repaying it. If you don't use the card, consider cancelling it before you apply for a mortgage.
